The Quintessential Ethos for Start-ups - Ad Venture Capital

The concept of start-ups in india is not new. But the nurturing of start-ups is maybe still nascent.
We do still have the independent contribuitors like Narayana Murthy, Vinod Khosla and the The Indus Entrepreneurs network. But what is needed is Government initiatives which can stream roll the process and we could then see the light of the day for more indigenous innovations from our own indian stables :).

Operating costs are still high in India compared to China and some other countries.
A major roadblock for our country is the power costs for running an office. A civilian nuclear power supply will reduce the power costs and a factor of our operating costs. I feel the government has to study the grey areas for Entrepreneurs in a new light after the recent Global meltdown.
The Success of Israel is one such example.

The governments Right perspective in the nick of time would be a bliss to the budding Entrepreneurs.

Closing Quotes : 2009

The Year 2009 ended on a Tragic note for Kannadigas with the death of a very fine actor and Even better human being, Dr Vishnuvardhan. His YearGlass is over turned and maybe he is already landed someplace else (Avatar ?? )
It was sad that his death was so early and his ever increasing contributions to the celluloid have been cut short. His Funeral procession was marked by Violence from people who in my opinion do not qualify as Fans but only as illiterate Hooligans. Its sad the Police could not control the situation even after a similar incident during Rajkumar's funeral procession.
I understand the irritation of trying to keep the sensible peace when everyone else is deliberately upsetting it for nothing. can be tough!

Well for me i rely on the Darwinian saying... thus spake..
" It is not the strongest or the most intelligent that survive but the ones most responsive to *change* "
its time the police in India became tougher smarter. The Supreme courts recent observations on molestation amounting to rape are a new paradigm shift in Indian Judicial machinery. This will cut short the lives of Criminals in positions of power. But of course more needs to be done to avoid ridiculous impotent judicial system which happened in Ruchika's case.
The CBI has turned out as a Central Bogey of Investigation and I feel all indians have long lost all hope from it.

I wonder if the Government has the nerve to re-open similar cases against people in its own Hierarchy ??

I guess not!!! otherwise Skeletons will tumble out of every closet including the presidents office, The Judiciary and the Politicking class (as Mr Tharoor would call it).

Compulsion to Clarity

When I moved to Sweden last year I lived a life of compulsions until i could get a grip.
These days its all about Clarity and enjoying the Life as I come to terms with the harsh weather and the nice people.

Its been a collage of experiences as I travel across Europe from the Scandinavian side of the world.

Remembering the Martyrs contribuition

Shaheedon ki chitaon par lagenge har baras mele, watan par marne walon ko yahi baaki nishan hoga!

http://bhagatsinghstudy.blogspot.com/2008/01/photographs-of-bhagat-singh-his-family.html
has more photos of our Freedom Fighters.

In the light of the Congress governments reluctance to participate in the Vijay Diwas celebrations, it appears the above quote's meaning has changed.
Shaheedon ki chitaon par sirf phool chadeynge lekin jaise shaheedon ne socha tha waisa samman usko congress ki sarkar to kabhi nahi deygi.
Aisa lagta hain unka tyaag vyarth gaya!
Sad state of affairs in India. People like Emraan hashmi ; Rakhi sawant are given more importance than the Kargil martyrs. the Media is also to blame largely for this sad situation.

Hope i could contribute like the Martyrs have done to the Country!
until then their slogan leads me onto that path in my own small way!

Starting from a Scratch :)

I was teaching a Java concept to my friend and i used the phrase when you design stuff from a scratch! you ought to take many things into consideration. He casually asked me why to design from a scratch and why the word scratch came into being !!'

I was left scratching my head :-) LOL

I had to explain to him that not long ago there were absolutely no computers and people had to use the Pencil and Paper to design new things.Nobody had seen a keyboard and something called Software back then. Now we have Spice, Matlab, Simulink, Excel etc etc. Nowadays an engineering problem is always looked to be solved in Software first and then if not possible.looked at from the Hardware point of view.
Probably thats why when it comes to Engineering design, Software Engineers are in demand. ( Well lets say for Arguments sake Software Engineers solve Engineering problems in software, I am aware that nowadays all that is being done through out the world is Software Maintenance and its mostly redesigning stuff to suit your new requirements which keep changing often.)Currently the Silicon Valley is Frozen and despite that there are innovations coming now and then. This shows that every day we have new Engineering problems and its our quest to solve them in a better way that will give us immense Satisfaction. The Engineer in me is poking his head out and peering into the wilderness :-)

Adios!

IT the industry

Its been more than 8 years for me working in the IT industry.
I have seen it all from Sun Solaris to Oracle DB to the Embedded Systems industry.
The Latter one being the Longest of them all.
What is fascinating is that some abstracts models which are purely theoretical have been constructed and work wonders. And I know that this industry is not that old.

I feel sometimes if we have the same kind of improvements or enhancements in Human lives we might someday become immortal ??
Why I think so ??

EOIAW - Every once in a While.

Every Once in a while I type general nonsensical stuff and call it a day.
{Of course it shows up here :)}

I wonder sometimes should I have an email address at all ?? I feel email addresses serve to distract more than help. I mean if you are working on something and there is a related email then it matters but sometimes it throws your attention span out of the window.
I think I should check email once every 2 hours.

it might help me work better, focus better, concentrate better !!
This is something which has dawned on me after working @ Ericsson Mobile Platforms.
At EMP, one is given or provided with all the tools, Knowledge & guidance which helps him or her to do her Job Better. They also provide a Table whose height can be elevated. Which means I can stand and work for hours.
Well. ... Thats my kind of the "Stimulus Package"....(not the kind US economy gets though).

Coming to news in neighbouring pakistan, the Stri lankan cricketers were targeted by pakistanis and i feel they should be thanking their stars today for their survival.
Chris Broad, the ICC Match referee was quoted as saying that Pakistan had promised "presidential-style security" but "it was not there when we needed it".
Apparently they were promised "presidential-style security" which is akin to being butchered in broad daylight in pakistan :-)
Remember the history of Zia-ul-haq, Zufikar ali Bhutto & Benazir bhutto.
Death is like always round the corner in Pakistan.
The Srilankans are scared to death by now. hell i am not even hypothesizing...!
I guess the Srilankan government will know better not to trust pakistanis from now on.

These days its just bad lay-off or bankruptcy filing news from everywhere...I often wonder whether I have ever seen such harsh times before. Never mind, I forget the bad times too often.
Its been awhile since i read a News paper physically. well News without paper is boring sometimes...Isnt it ?

You know 1 fact is that not every once in a while I walk in snow trying to learn Swedish.
Tired of my blog ? It smacks of lethargy hell yeah I am tired!!!

And !!! one more fact I purchased a cycle and bicycle my way to work or around the city, that way I contribute a little less to the Pollution - Call it a life less ordinary :)

One practical thing would be for me to hit the bed. Thanks for reading.
( Did I just hear you scream 'Good Ideaah' ?)

Endgame - Smile like one size fits all :)

Life in the Slow Lane

Methinks the Eagles famous number

Life in the fast lane...Surely makes you lose your mind...!

Should be changed to

Life in the Slow lane...Surely makes you lose your mind...!

These days its been like watching the massacre in the rear view mirror and just being paranoid about the situation. The Job cuts are horrific...entire towns have been wiped of jobs.

The Toll surely is bigger than most Natural Calamities

The Economic Depression is a Travelling Circus called Recession!

One day here gone tomorrow to another region.

Little bit rusty and little bit late. The Recession has raised its Ugly head in 2007 (quarter 4) & by now has taken its Biggest toll uptil now.
Though Recession taught some people some things. Some people will never will learn. Stubborn stiff dumb asses.
I will elaborate during the course of this post.
Companies are getting bailed out. But beneath the bail out lies the story of how some largesse and how some scamming has ended up
in Tax Payers money being swindled.

I think the bailed out Folks might be sippin their Tequila at a bar and wondering
wow that was really something Man...coming out of deep shit like that and having your job still (Not to mention the occasional party & vacation at thailand).
World over Finance Ministers kick started the bail outs claiming "We are in Recession"!
Its like ........Elementary My Dear Watson !!!!

Companies I feel had the politicians on payroll for rainy days like this.

They elected the yester year politicians into power today

& Now want the same power to get at the Tax Payers money to fix their slandering and philandering.

Especially the Bankers have committed the highest order crime with their outrageous Lending Schemes in the US.

In India the Ramalinga Raju Phenomenom has hit the backbone of Indian Export revenue. All the while when the Rajus had scammed and siphoned off funds to their family enterprise Maytas no politician gave a damn. The Andhra government in fact gave many projects to this Family Enterprise.

But after the slowdown Raju found himself in a possible arrest over Frauds with American companies. Fearing which he gave up to Indian Police.

Shows to what extent Money can drive the Evil inside the man like Ramalinga Raju who was awarded one of the Highest honours in Business.

Still it remains clear how he managed such a Fraudian Enterprise without the help of the Auditors (PwC).

The Share holders and the employees have been taken for a ride.

He deserves the severest punishment suiting to his crime.

I hope this year the industry gets some semblance of shape balance & poise.
