Uncomfortably Numb

Its becoming a damn cold place this bengaluru...
Fireplace required badly @home...Wat say folks ?These days the Bangalore chill is jus amazing in itself. Its so very cold n breezy and more often the beautiful weather takes me to Europe. My Thought experiments imagine me sitting in a Huge European mansion next to the Fireplace...
How Cozy that would be ??

Palace of Versailles....??

Hmm...my thots are getting greedy now ...

so I;ll cut the crap a lil...
I feel I should have a Fireplace in a corner of my house...where i can sip a hot coffee over a Samosa or something...
Well you may not subscribe to my views but then its like u toss a coin thousand times whats the probability of it comin up Heads ?
A fire place in a Shaandar Haveli [not a bhoot ka bungla beedu !] with an Arm rest chair ? Sounds good kya ?

listening to Lionel Richie "hello"or maybe the pink flyod number uncomfortably Numb! Can it be cooler than that ?Wah kya kehne hain !

My Thot experiment might as well delay me for my office bus :)!

Flavours of the Gun culture...

Recent killing of a fellow classmate in a Delhi(gurgoan) School by 2 students had everyone sitting up and taking notice.
The crime was done with an un-licensed revolver which brings us back to the Centre stage with America.
America is happening man !!! The Gun culture is now in India albeit it is a ddifferent one.
Though the murders in the US are more by deranged and mentally unstable individuals the killing of two andhraites seemed to be a diabolic murder. The Indian gun culture is more of murders due to the accessibility and the allure of inflicting sheer pain.
The fatal trigger is fired in more of a power show rather than self-defence.
I advocate a liberal approach in life, So when it comes to playing with anybodys life with Guns and providing un-inhibited accessibility to them should be punished with the highest sentence possible. The legal loopholes also need to be plugged.

Not that this is the first instance in India.
Mafiosi have been havin pitched battles across the country with local-made guns. But the entry of guns into school marks the ebb in the Culture as more money flows into india. The rich and famous parents now have lethal toys and these toys are finding their way into schools.

Well the realm of dangerous possibilites looms large with guns in the Delhi bronx.

ps : Incidentally i have hit the 300th post with this one!

Burkha Dutt...

  • Blog hiatus notwiithstanding...I wanna write like anything...I am defying the laws of Human gravity (Minimum 8 hrs sleep)....
I rarely hit the bed for more than 6 hrs these dayz.

@ work its been more of debugging strange and unexplained glitches in the raw PCBs we have for sampling. its been one helluva 'Software is from MARS then Hardwarew is from Venus' month for me.
Some glitches we have attributed to hardware problems. And some software ones we are yet to fathom as they are very unpredictable.
All this has made sure i face new interesting situations day in and day out...
Well yes... Methinks I have turned into a Supersonic hedge hog ...office<->work...Dexterity of some colleagues is truly amazing
yeah thats been my routine... thesez few days.
on a collision course with a balanced Lifestyle..

koming bac to the TubeWatch Sundays is all for this show on NDTV...where this burkha Dutt(pun intended) calls all the minority committee people on her so called show.

Agreed Barkha is a brilliant Journo ... but everybody has a right to change and she has changed from her earlier times (change is for the worse). Some highlights from her recent shows aired on sundays.

  • It beats me that always the Hindus are marginalised on the show.
  • Any topic she is interested has many takers in the audience but not many against her.
  • The majority community is always the target of all the Talk on the show.
  • Same old people show up as Liberals!
Sometimes its a total shame...she shows off as a benevolent listener. where in essence it appears stage managed and the comments are pot pourri for each individual.
In fact so predictable is the show one could easily fancy himself being out numbered out voted if ever participating against the burkha Dutt and her cotroversial topics.
I have nothing against minorities but it appears its like a bag which anybody can take a shot at on her show.
Really I don;t feel like investing my sundays on such sheer ego cruises of the minorities sponsored by the Dutt female.
On some level the hard talk is also stage managed to a T. but then its not a Stage Managed Free for All :) ROTFL.
A good rule of thumb is watch howz she headed and just check the audience. People are expecting the female to come to them with a mike. Like all the Talk-Show People they are fed with Questions.

Sometimes its the altruism shown makes you wonder whether it is this in the real world or is it only virtual ??

End of the political Menopause

When the month of November had started all political activity both international and domestic had some lows.
But this month proved to be heightened with political pot shots by seasoned vile politicians.

While on the international scene pakistan has had some serious back room dealings.Benazir arrived to her death trap only to escape by sheer luck.and Now Nawaz sharif has come back. Both the events had the Musharraf conditional approval i believe.

Both the former PMs know they cannot enter without his backing, who himself is backed by the US.Thats why both demanded 'Return to Democracy' instead of a more strong tirade against the Musharraf coup.it remains to be seen which of the two make it to the highest post. It sure will take 2008 for that to happen.

On the domestic front the Gowda clans unleashed their lies, bigotry to an extreme extent such that even their own family members and relatives might not trust the Father-Sons Combination.
While all accounts seemed to point this as a highlight of november, in came the Nandigram Massacres.
Farmers were beaten up in an attempt to acquire their land forcibly.
This was state sponsored and the Buddhadev bhattacharya government to this day justifies Nandigram. Which is such a shame for a democratic setup like india.
The Left government started drawing severe flak from all quarters and from even the West Bengal High Court.Thats when the cunning government seemed to have scored over the Deve Gowda Politics.

They unleashed religious fundamentalism out of the blue to divert the attention away from the Nandigram Massacre to the 'Taslima Nasreen hate'.

This was an occasion the Moslem Fundamentals in Kolkata had been badly waiting for. They totally played into the hands of the left and started a Riot to evict Taslima out of Kolkata.
The Buddhadev Bhattacharya government in what seemed(?) a knee-jerk reaction moved Taslima to Jaipur after 2 days of rioting in Kolkata.

I think Taslima was a victim of the Nandigram controversy though she is in no way remotely connected to it, but the overtones found its way to her. an issue over her was raised Out of the blue & she had to leave her Safe house in a hurry.
This only shows how mean and self-centred the Politician is today. I think the Bengal politicians have squarely beaten the karnataka counterparts this november.
Well lets see today is just Nov 25th and a full 5 days to unleash some more dirty politiks.
Lets see which state comes a topper.

What Karnataka/India needs now ?

NO we don;t need elections, we also despise the politicians. We need educated Bureaucrats who can introduce schemes to improve quality of life.

It does not take much for instance to do get started on the below activities as a start.

HealthCare:
Computerise all the Doctors Clinics such that each patient information, Diagnosis etc is stored in a Central repository.
This way each Doctor is accountable. The populace has a right to information about the diagnosis. Also gives a count of the population density etc.Statistics on the health ailments per year/per quarter basis.

Education:Centralise the admission and educational details of each and every student in schools/colleges.This is not difficult at all.better Statistics on the output and where the students are headed can be derived per year based on the results.

Transport:Identify requirement for subways and Bridges at intersection which cause accidents.this might be bit expensive but what the heck is the TAX paid for ??As a heavily taxed professional I need to know why it is not spent on such activities rather than on needless party banners/meetings/ show of strengths etc.

Prognosis:

Why does the CM have to travel in Skoda when he is just a public servant and a normal Ambassador would be just fine.Unless of course it is his own income. But then Farmers owning swanky cars is un-heard of. Which leads to the TAX question. does he pay tax if yes then how can he afford the luxury ??
These three things at a minimum would summarize what i would do immediately to improve life in Bangalore and Karnataka for a start.
Hey all these require a miniscule amount of the Treasury. Yet we do not see this being done. There are no hopes also for such schemes in the near future.
What does it need to be a Politician. The person has to see beyond what an average individual needs as part of his basic amenities. This person has to be really empathetic to people needs. An average guy like me can best serve a typical cubicle job.Who then can do the above activities with panache.

Sudha Murthy or Narayana Murthy are strong contenders.
They distribute wealth.which is kind of unheard or sacrilege to our present day politicians.
Overall things are going from bad2worse to even worse. With the JD(S) tactics/antics, the Political landscape is a mudslinging and lying zone, unparalleled maybe during our ancient times in India.
JD(S) can put even Chanakya to shame with their back stabbing, lying and cheating techniques.

Surely the DNA of the Politician has matured over the years (for the worse).
At these times i feel a dictator is required for India. The Nandigram shameful episode shows the Congress-Left high handed acts. Which are a complete disregard to Human Life. The people of Nandigram had to resort to exteme measures despite voting for the Left from many years. Why did this happen ? The Left is mostly made up of hypocratic Zamindars and land lords who seldom even think of the populace. This is reflected in the growth of West bengal which is ordinary compared to other states.

Nandigram massacre was a bad day in the History of India. Was it possible to avoid such land grabbing by the Ruling party ??Then what was required in the constituition to prevent other such incidents ??

Was our constituition framed in a Hurry ? or is it that its a Frozen piece of document which is taken for the ride by the present day coalition governments. We surely need a dictator of the mould of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. On name which crops up immediately is Shashi Tharoor. But that is not to be!

But its such a pity we are bound by our so-called Democratic value system which leaves holes for the parasitic politicians to come in and bleed the country!

[Weekend Musing] my Guitar weeps

Lost is the feeling inside...

Caffeination won;t help today i know...

Once upon this time .... not long back though ...I used to Jam Systolic

‘the Reverbs’ really used to stir me to potent new levels

bringing out the hidden vocal part of me to life...

the music in me just waiting to exhale...

my guitar weeps ...(Gibson)

Weekend Happiness iz calling where am i ?

Music is for the battered soul

some caviar for the greased out soul

My dictionary is missing pages ... or is it just me ?

Tired i may seem but thatz in thots only ...

The countless whisperings of friends I want to relate to but never get the time...

this birthday was a dry fruit something...sweet and short...gone too soon...

I seem light years away from a total 'Freak Out' partdee (read as SYSTOLICa-JAM)

Something is headed my way or is it am certainly headed some way...!

Did I hear someone just say ? Get well soon Mamoooo!

hey ... Apan ke Kaann baj rele hain kya ? or is it just only me ??
Thoda jyada likh diya na ?? :)

I Curse you all Sangeet Premi to have a great weekend :)

Global Harming - Look whos talking

Itz the election season(mania ?) in the US of A.Your Tely might be filled with trash on how global warming is screwing the world.

The US media talk seems to be centred around the third world and other countries contributing to the global warming phenomenon.

If not for the Wars the oil consumption in the US has reached alarming levels.
Thanks to the oil price check and bohomie with the OPEC.
The Gasoline consumption levels reach new highs in the US.
US is actually throttling the Globe into a world devoid of any Oil.

and they talk of Global warming and its causes :)

wow, who started it all ? eh ?Global Harming was the Bush Famili affair wasn;t it ?
But then who cares...until oil prices for Texans are under control. Texan George W cares two hoots about Global warming/farming etc.

He has done his best in the Harming variety and now it is upto the next Moron to take it further :)
Really he has given it his 100% ROTL.

Omigosh what the others can do to salvage can never match the rate of depletion caused by warring with islamic countries, going after them hammer and tongs [or was it Hummer and Bombs] was the quickest way to carbonize the world and deplete the Ozone layer.

"Homeland security" assumed a new meaning with the americans attacking their (quite) far off neighbours (iraq) with preposterous charges(nukes, chemical Weapons of Mass Destruction, ha ha ha).
The bad blood formed recently between Russia and US over critical Defence standings just points to a Coldest War emerging which can have disastrous consequences if ....anyways ... god forbid.

It surely is no harbinger of times but the stillness before the storm.
Bush's "war on terror" was taken an extra mile by the Pakistani general this week. For him any pakistani is a Terror and hence the "War on Terror" continues un-abashed,
albeit with a new stylish and fascist name "The Emergency".
and now something totally different
A prayer for the Pakistanis in their hour of Emergency

How B-Czar !!!

Manmohan singh continues to be the b-grade Czar and the A-grade still rests with the Czarina. Why did Ronen Sen and the Government show such (perhaps nasty) impatience in signing a deal.

This was and is by no means a small deal which can be signed without the Czarina's permissions. So does that mean the pressure mounted by US was too much to handle for Manmohan singh. Sonia was always for the deal. being Italian obviously has its effects in this one.
Restricting and constraining our nuclear dimensions spoils the Nuke edge india has over pakistan. Also mighty China will then make mincemeat of india.
The american flirting is not Funny at all.

Like the saying goes...way to a man;s heart is through his stomach. US seems to be trying by stuffing unwanted pizza down indian throat.

The Nuke deal is most bizarre...Its like a Joint account owned by India and US.But then the account is locked from day one for indiaIts one helluva bad way to make friends, if it happens to be the US interest then they are way off ...

When the chips are down US comfortably allies with the Fench,Germans,Chinese also. So India should not live in this false hope of "Friend with Benefits" theory in the long term.

my objections might sound mere observations. But then eminent scientists have this opinion.

vile question save from whom ? czar and czarina seem to be in a hurry !

czarina might well be saying "eat cakes if not bread"

Forgive the questioning and slightly lecturing overtones of mine.

The Indian in me just comes out clean soemtimes.

Wild Wild East

Ah .. so very Quiet mornings i like them...today being sunday...its unusually tranquil.

this Sombre morning has a big news....Pakistan in turmoil again...Emergency declared.

Musharuff the famous baby sitter for Al Qaeda, Taliban has bushwhacked his whole country, which is not something new.

If you follow one of my old blogs you would notice i had predicted this 6 months before. I also have predicted :-) a possible Musharuf assasination on the lines of Zia.

Taliban and al qaeda seem to be the Frankenstein;s monster Musharuf cannot control now.
The spinning wheel seems to have stopped again for now. The lawlessness resembles the Wild Wild West ha ha ha...Indian politics also follows suit. But there seems to be some semblance of Democracy still in india.

Moot Question : Why doesn't Musharuf get along fine with other pakistanis ?

Being a Mohajir he always wanted to prove his loyalty to Pakistan and rise among others. The result was Kargil....which resulted in significant gains and mileage for musharuf. But he seems to have lost it now. He cannot control the Judiciary nor the bureaucracy. The vile politicians anyways fight among themselves so he luckily need not control them. Right now he just commands the Militia.

Well whats in the 'know' may not be the truth....musharuf has the media under wraps. So what you see is not whats the ground reality.

Musharuf is reduced to a bullet proof shit head who is commanded partly by the US.
There is no semblance of sanity for pakistan since he took over the reigns. Terrorism was sponsored by ISI and surrogately managed by the Pakistan Army commanded by musharuf.

This had its most severe implications when the army tried to disassociate from the hardliners. They could not...Terrorists by then had complete control of the Madrasas and the general public. The piece of shit that pakistan is reduced is its own undoing. It Never does mind its own business. poking its head here and there....to borrow a lie from Ronen Sen ... like "Headless Chicken" ha ha ha.

Bothering neighbouring state politics is its survival card. The Internal debt notwithstanding sometimes it feels its control and influence in neighbouring Islamic states politics is the only option to bargain with the US. While it might be true, musharuf realises that he is just a bullet away from death.

And hence he can never give democracy a chance in pakistan. It might be too costly for his life. His Love and favouring of terrorism has bought forward his own downfall.

Always the Pakistan army has bent the rules and broken them at will in its proxy war against India. But while India is pre-occupied with its increased Global Economic Powerhouse image, Pakistan is not doing its "Problem-Child" image any good.

I might sound like a genuine philosopher, But yes i feel Pakistanis need maybe Buddhism which teaches non-violence and meditation which is the need of hour...
[It tantamounts to sacrilege i know, I might even be eliminated for suggesting this "Losing Religion Thingy" :) or invite a Fatwa]
But what the heck I know nobody;s even listening to that or buying that ;-)
Musharuf can't help himself from the deep shit he;s gotten into, forget about helping the pakistani people. No pensions either for him, he cannot say from here lead a normal life outside of the dictatorship.

Mostly pakistan politics today is comprised of F$%^in hypocrites.
Sharif, Musharuf, Bhutto...all have had their moments of shame...no one can claim they resurrected Pakistan.

so what would the doctor (not Kofi annan for chrissake) prescribe to the pakis right now? valium ? morphine ?
Like i can say sitting here in Bangalore-"Wish you were here !!! what a Wonderful World !!!"

No paki can ever say that about Pakistan where Violence persists in the age of Tolerance.

[QOTM] Men will be Men

Men are only as good as their technical development allows them to be.

- George Orwell (1903-1950) British novelist, essayist, and critic.
Cunning men will be Cunning Men till their death....
Some might be educated, but education transforms them to educated thugs.
People like Musharuf are a menace to mankind. ( i don;t call him a General, i don;t think he is one...he breaks the rules so thats not militist behaviour)
Karnataka politicians are also in the same league of extra-ordinarily cunning politicians.
call them plotticians rather :)
When you have leaders like then who needs enemies.

What would happen if i had to start all over ?? Tmrw

Funny this thot occured and haunted me for some time as i was walkin home from office ...

What would happen if i had to start all over my life again...Tomorrow.

I wud be the same person eventually. won;t i...the basic DNA is same !

I will be like ive always been... a little confused a little ambitious a little conspicous

Sometimes they say love or lack of love change ppl.
I think needs that special someone to go some extra distance in life. Same with me ... (I happen to be waiting for that special someone though)
Regd the "Let Me Live" feeling, i mean thats what keeps us all ticking doesn;t it ??

As a person I might be a bit sarcastic, I might be a bit outrageous....But i am always nice to people and i htink that quality can never be taken out of me.

I am a spendthrift yes! but then without money I can adjust to the situation and still end up having a goood time.
I feel I cannot be caught up by situations...I want to catch situations and turn them around :_)
Wealth brings lot of problems honey,
heard of anybody wealthy and happy ??

I think one can b happy or one can be wealthy :)

This is the small world i live in...a small social life thats about it for me. Thats the INBOX,

and I don;t give a damn about the OUTBOX { the world at large} as long as the SENT ITEMS has some happiness i can give to people.
Sometimes i sound so morbid thatz bcoz sometimes i feel morbid inside me .... but like my name spells happiness I make people happy...I bring smile on sour faces that is the important thing for me.

I don't intend to sound comically brilliant if it ain't dead serious a matter .....

I was happy 2 souls benefited from me today

I could tell you But that'll have to wait for another time n Blog!

Sleep perchance 2 Dream (:-:)

Itz Friday night...
It was one hell of a bus ride for me today.
left office @ 8pm and reached home at 10:30ish - take that 2 n a half hrs in a bus.
Was so exhausted in teh end that could not even dine properly.

Right now i feel like that old spice ad which showed a White water Surfer being engulfed by a huge wave of water.

I feel I am surfing the net and suddenly there is this huge wave of sleep coming over me.( See this video for the original old spice ad )

am gonna succumb any moment now :)
The best thing about my daily sleep is that i never ever remember the dreams.
I know i do get some vivid dreams but i can never recollect what why and wheres of them.

Boon or Bane.. I don;t know....
If you read Sigmund Freud, "Interpretation of Dreams" - Dreams are the signals of whats in store of us in the very near future.

Well... to say the least I am kind of future blind that way....but of what use can dreams be if wats gonna happen is gonan happen anyway ???
It would be better not to know about some things ...:) that way the suspense stays in life !

wat say ? any comments ?
This time itz a Huge wave yaar....I am faling apart with sleep. I am being hammered now !

~Guten Nacht

Phone Call into the Future

For some the Telecommunication revolution was the best thing to happen.
It bridged the HUGE lurking gap in the Human Communication frontier giving way to the famous adage "World is a small place".
Like the Connectivity modes had evolved with air travel the IT advances have been path breaking.
But then Air travel itself had reached its Focal point.
Comparetively IT industry still matures every now and then and at a fairly acceptable rate.
Recent IT technical advances seem to be more in the Hardware space. Mainly phenomenal increases in storage capacity on NAND and other chips.
For the Telecom industry its bit hazy, it stands at the same cross road where the Airline industry is stuck.
3G technology which was hailed as the Next Revolution in Communications till date remains a aircraft trying make its maiden flight across the Pacific or Atlantic.
European Companies invested heavily in 3G little realising that the Market for 3G was simply not there.

Economy Riders in Technology advances:
As with any country Economy only blooms when political stability exists.
In case of Europe there was a decent lull in political instability. The third world was and is going through a rough patch in terms of Political Stability.
So in short Markets of such third world countries are what any banker would describe as "Volatile Markets".
Investing in a volatile market has its ups and downs. While you would need to keenly watch the progress.
There can be a total loss of Revenues and bad debts can occur within a span of days. China is one such market where volatility exists even though political stability persists.
[ Side note:) : Communist regimes never had it so good. It remains a mystery to the Americans and the World @ large. Militist regimes have never been this successful ]
The Chinese markets are mainly dependent on the variables in its Economy growth. They are Automobiles, Cosmetics, Housing & Entertainment. Some market research claims that
you can never gauge the average chinese pulse. The preferences keep changing with American and European style influences.
The Demand for such foreign products bring out cheaper imitations which satisy the market supply demands.

In India volatile markets are due to unrealistic investments across sectors.
Buying capacities vary cities and the densities of cities add to such varying buying models. The Real Indian market has shifted from the Rural india to the Urban india.
In india, Foreign Direct Investment fuels growth in some areas such as chemical industry,Pharma sector, IT industry etc.
The opportunities are seldom equal across sectors. The imbalance causes the markets to fluctuate between the stable variables and the unstable ones.
India is mainly in the Value bracket where most FDI create value by investing in research and developments which are a fraction of the cost of that in Developed countries. Where China is all about cheap imitation jewellery, India is more about the development of Value and sustaining the same.

What works in China though is state sponsored infrastructure investments. In India there are way too many riders for growth. While Chinese CEOs might be helped by Financial reforms, Indian CEOs need to wine and dine the political class to its sanity.
In such a volatile political environment many missed opportunities exist or perish.
Take the case of Start-ups. I have always read about Chinese and Israeli start-ups creating a stir.
In India this rarely happens !!!
Not surprising that India is a democracy and China and Israel are more Militist states.
So nurturing value and sustainance is an unheard of thingy in india. Its all about the next square meal in India. Myopic viewpoints of the political & bureaucracy cancel the Missed Calls which india receives in Innovation space.
So MNC job is any day stable because it can survive Market crash in India and US and elsewhere.
Innovation space hardly has any takers.
my oft-quoted line for Innovation
- "Innovation is a continous process....But then it has to start somewhere first ;-)"
Though similar initiatives like iPhone were undertaken at the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. They never took off. Why and Wherefores are not hard to imagine.
Golden initiatives also need some brilliant intuitive Timing, Manufacturing and Magnitude adjustments. Where iPhones are such a Phenomenon across all Markets. Volatility factors in India are a severe hindrance to such Valued growth.
For Samsung itself the lull in the markets is a time for serious Introspection. Cutting Costs, Excess baggage, improving products should be done on a war footing if it has to survive in the FMCG space.
Chinese companies and Japanese companies are watching the Segments Samsung addresses. This time they are not going to produce cheap imitations. Their directed Research and Development revenues are controlled and monitored closely for Tangible output.
So Volatility of markets in India might be a boon for MNCs which can Funnel their growth via India in a cost effective and sustained way.
A peek into the future and weighted averages should help companies bring out Products and beat the Volatility in the Markets.
4G is supposed to be the next Big thing in the Telecom protocol arena.
Sadly the Technology is so complex and has so many private entities that standardising and commercialising it seem to be a 4 year curse at a minimum.
EndGame : Sometimes a bad taste (militist regimes) in the mouth may be a good thing after all.
Maybe sometimes democracy should take a back seat ???
Maybe my diagnosis may be wrong, what with India booming like anything. But then i am wishing India to be a Tech Super Power, a one-stop shop for any technical consulting.
Well there is no cure for my hypermetropia ;-)

Jog of Life

I was born in Mumbai city & from then on lived all my life in the cities called Bombay and Bangalore.Spent close to 2 years in Europe, was stationed or camped at Frankfurt.
My behaviour and to some extent my language has markers of these events. They intercept and intersect me often.

My life has seen the world as a gallery so to speak. Bottled emotions exist which i vent out in vintage style at my blog. There are days when i unwind with Led Zeppelin and fascinate in poignant moments about the Music/Moods that keep me going.I sometimes think we all fake life...yeah...Matrix might be for real ?Sometimes the being alive feeling appears so very artificial and cosmetic @ best. The gallery of evidence transcends the signs we keep seeing daily.Shackles all around, thirst for comfort is endless...no i am not living out of a comfort zone. These days i live in a discomfort zonebut then the wise man said...No Pain No gain....din he ?Quasi persistance it is in this urbane existence. Maybe this is the Entrance Fee we pay for entering Life.
Hey don't shout i am myopic ... I am all of 27.10 years old now and I feel I have seen enoughI am not asking God for an Software upgrade in my life. I want a hardware upgrade now.
I see opportunity looms large outside the City Limits. No its not a day dream couch.Visit your ancestral folks in any village you will feel enriched with its innocence and rustic feel. The fresh breath of air... now if you say these are intangibles ...damn you

Sometimes I feel a peasants life might be one damn good thing to happen. Ive seen some villagers in bangalore.MeThinks being called "Out of Towners" has its own advantages.
You are not supposed to behave in a structured/polished way. in short u can do ur own thingy n get away with it. City streets and Life is a passing phenomenon and going back to the fields and nature is certainty. No urbane hassles! whatsoever !

Sometimes "Reverse Californication". While @ work we might be submitted to X-rays to scan our integrity. A village life has pure unadulterated sunlight on offer. You can never miss it.
Indian villages suffer from poor Electricity,Medicine and Transport facilitiesOnce basic amenities are provided at least i would prefer a rural existence any day.
Corruption levels are very low in villages and people still happen to know each other on first name basis.Where one can satisfy his wander lust.
But alas there are no U-Turns in life

PS: All the while i wrote this cynical account I was drowned in Oasis-WOnderwall and the Decibels Usually run high what wid so music in me :) its not that hard to imagine isn;t it ?

Life time of Symmetry

Its that time of my life when I have to steal time to catch a wink...when was the last time i slept peacefully ?
I seem to forget :(
In the course of today i felt like going outside the office building & gazing up in the sky...but could not..

Soemtimes time passes by so fast indeed...no camera can ever ensure the stillness of time.

Though a Camera may capture a moment. There is no Camera which can stop time in its tracks.

Well i was wondering about life and how Life can never be still !

I c that nature is all about symmetry , we also try to achieve the same during our lifetime.

Except of course our wants and have nots create the imbalance and we try and balance them to the extent possible.
Acheiving the much yearned Symmetry in the process ...

For instance you might find a cut apple perfectly symmetric.
Same way our mind, at any point in time strives for synergy and symmetry
finally its upto us to define and attain the Symmetry

Don't think i am hallucinating! I am not drunk either
nor did i have a bad day @ work...

its just the fatigue of 3 night outs which is comin out this way :) he he he...

Cheers!

[QOTM] Oktober

"Then, there is this syndrome about Bangalore. Outsiders come to it noncommittal, curious maybe, but nothing more. Then as they get to know the place, they fall in love with it. And over time the ardent commitment turns them into crusaders, ready to risk being misunderstood, if only to do one’s bit to keep alive what’s good in the city."

Currently all over India for Engineering and other graduates, it seems all roads lead to bangalore!
But Once in Bangalore all roads are full of potholes ;-), The place is getting crowded day by day....But who could afford to miss the Beauty or the experience called Bangalore ??

After the Metro is done the JAMS will be gone and BANGALORE will emerge like Delhi
A Little less poluted ... A little less jammed ...a little beautiful than before ;-)
Frends, That wud be my Bangalore!!!

September Gazette !

Folks !
It's been a busy but exciting September and I've woken up from ma blog slumber!!
~So let me start the chronicling of this September in the order as i c it...

1. Hutch became Vodafone...
so what the heck the Hutchison network still sucks. Vodafone it appears wants to make it big with the growing indian mobile users segment. Elsewhere its revenues are dwindling...India seems to be a safe bet for Vodafone for now.

2. UTI bank became Axis Bank...
so whats in it for me ????Spare me the re-naming for chrissake which was done for a global audience in the first place. The repeated ads were getting on my nerves and it seemed Axis Bank was euphoric apparently for no rhyme or reason. The ads featured Twins of different ages. While i was elated to see Twins getting attention(being a Twin myself, and coming from a family of twins) I felt the advertisers went overboard about the ad. There was nothing amazing about the ad and repeated broadcasts cud harm than Help the Axis Bank image.

3. Ram setu is being made a target of political vendetta or upmanship.
The congress and DMK governments claim that it will be profitable for the port of Cochin. Sadly this is a white lie as the proposed bridge will not be in same league as the Suez canal and cannot generate the same kind of revenue. In fact it will be costlier for the ships to traverse the route. Also since the land mass is narrow there will be damage to flora and fauna. The study by the government is one-sided and does not involve the srilankan side. Thus it is partisan and too early to decide on one report. But what the heck this government is bent upon taking one-sided decisions. The Nuclear deal is one such example. Noclear decisions seem to be the order of the day with this government.

4. India still remains @
"No Power no Water No Infrastructure Total Network "
Irony in the advertisement had me zapped.
Reliance seems to think ignorance is Bliss for india. Its ad featured a catch line which does not augur well for india. call it old world advertising or mixing of sublime rural pictures with the Gizmos of today. It sadly does paint a bad picture of the times.
While the delivery and content play on human emotions. The content can be termed Paradoxic @ bestFault is not the person who conceived it but the status india exists @ present.
Both rural and urbane i mean.
Saala achar daalogey kya network ka...jab potholes or Traffic jams se bura haal hain !
To draw a distant and distinct parallel...
Truly Total Network has come to mean like the Nokia catch line..."Connecting People" .....except of course its nothing short of "Disconnecting Families"
My Life@Mumbai...where we did not have any Telephone or Mobile service [I hear ppl sayin Not Again! ]was damn peaceful...
Only 1 shop closeby had a Telephone line for a population close to 1 lakh .... and yet everyone was Happy [;-)]

Post cards were the order of the day and people used to wait for their relatives letters.
Thats why neighbours meant so much more those days....So people used to connect to Neighbours and have good platonic friendships.

But what we might see in todays metropolis is some kind of high funda snobbing.
People are used to just talking to their Family members only...I am sure many might not know their third door neighbour by name or face.
So the ad "Total Network" is in some sense introducing hurdles to potent healthy human relations.I hate to say this as I work for Mobile phones....but they are (unknowingly) snuffing away the lives of people.

BOTTOMLINE : Technology progresses @ the cost of human relations. We really need infrastructure before we use technology for the greater good.

5. T20 : vanquishing the Ozzies...
comin back to the Fine performance by india in the T20 World cup...I am short of words...
just cannot verbalize the euphoria and rush of blood to the head i cud feel after the match.
It was a Kodak moment to cherish - Dhoni &Co. with the Trophy.
It made my dream of India beating Pak in a WC final Reality.
One Ericsson Engineer working wid me asked me why i was in such a mad hurry to get home, I told him it is IndiaVsPak in Final buddy and I wud not miss it for my life, impossible!!!He said is it like Life n Death ??? situation....
I told him he was talking out of his depths...its more than that.
In a Life n Death situation one wud try to save his life...An India Pak contest is a Full Fledged War!And we play to win and not just to survive ...
anyways he got enuff vibes that he shud leave me alone :) ROTFL
The match was a total mind game and India Aced the T20 World Series in the end. Righlty So!
Aside to this fact there is one n only lament ... ESPN the broadcaster made 122 crores revenues out of this.

Imagine all the ad money going out of india !!!!What the bloody hell was BCCI doing ???
Indian advertisers must have spent a fortune and now all the Indian money lands in the ESPN basket.
Is there really a way out of this ?
how to stem such revenue outflows ?

A little Contemplative!
-Prasanna.

downed by a Trojan Virus 1st time in ma Desktop life

Yesterday a cosuin of mine came home with a Pen Drive. He wanted soem videos etc.
As soon as i inserted the USB mcAfee cribbed about a Trojan Generic.ep.

I found that this Trojan had messed up a lot of my windows n Registry settings.
The Ordeal...is as below..

If you get hit by Generic.ep virus
Install Norton / AVG / mcAfee AV programs.
This virus infects ur windows systems folders.Every directory u then browse has a directory of the same name with a .exe extension. The afore mentioned AV sw shud help u in weeding this out.

But you will find that Task Manager will be disabled.Fire "GPEDIT.msc" from Windows->RUN
Under Administrative template -> System categoryCtrl+alt+del options can be disabled. This will enable ur Task Manager to be launched.

Registry editing also can be enabled back by using this script ...

'Enable/Disable Registry Editing tools'© Doug Knox - rev 12/06/99
Option Explicit
'Declare variablesDim WSHShell, n, MyBox, p, t, mustboot, errnum, versDim enab, disab, jobfunc, itemtype
Set WSHShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")p = "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\"p = p & "DisableRegistryTools"itemtype = "REG_DWORD"mustboot = "Log off and back on, or restart your pc to" & vbCR & "effect the changes"enab = "ENABLED"disab = "DISABLED"jobfunc = "Registry Editing Tools are now "
'This section tries to read the registry key value. If not present an 'error is generated. Normal error return should be 0 if value is 'presentt = "Confirmation"Err.ClearOn Error Resume Nextn = WSHShell.RegRead (p)On Error Goto 0errnum = Err.Number
if errnum <> 0 then'Create the registry key value for DisableRegistryTools with value 0 WSHShell.RegWrite p, 0, itemtypeEnd If
'If the key is present, or was created, it is toggled'Confirmations can be disabled by commenting out 'the two MyBox lines below
If n = 0 Then n = 1WSHShell.RegWrite p, n, itemtypeMybox = MsgBox(jobfunc & disab & vbCR & mustboot, 4096, t)ElseIf n = 1 then n = 0WSHShell.RegWrite p, n, itemtypeMybox = MsgBox(jobfunc & enab & vbCR & mustboot, 4096, t)End If

Humming Bird

Lately....I've picked up this habit of humming my fav songs in the company bus while on my way to and back from office. I usually play MP3s from my Mobile fone.

I feel Super lightweight after hearing and humming the songs

I wonder during the course of my humming " what really is a song .. its just not a set of words strewn for some poetic measure...
Its a
  • Bunch of emotions
  • Bunch of things ur heart wanted to say that day and could not...
  • Bunch of TODOs which cud have been accomplished.

I feel Clear & Open rendition of songs frees the mind of the pangs which lurk in the corners of the heart.

So my suggestion dear reader....think out loud, sing out loud...for it rids ur mind of the many cravings life imposes on you and you could not fulfill maybe !

When I croon in the Company bus there are some curious glances....But I am like "Don't stop me now....coz I am having a good time :) "

I am very much reminded of the VH1 ad "If i were a Song" :))

Dahi handi ki yaadein

Story goes a long way back...We were kids then and Gokulastmi was the day we eagerly used to wait.

I used to feel the rush like that of the Drum Beats from a Heavy Metal song which pumps my adrenaline. Dahi Handi used to get me up all excited.
For starters Dahi handi is the festival in Maharashtra/Mumbai. It is an event marking the birth of Lord Krishna(Janmashtami) where a Pot with Curd and some money is tied between two tall rise buildings. It then has to be reached and broken.

The Money Factor goes up the higher the Handi is tied. though it not at all about the money. Just the achivement of being done that!!!

Our building boys were not the enterprising types. Dahi handi actually means forming a human chain of people standing one over another. It is the ultimate test of balance patience perseverance.

Unfortunately it also means a bad fall ;-).

Our building boyz used to tie the Dahi handi alright ... but never managed to break the pot by climbing in a formation.
But best part they tried it every time.

We kiddos used to have a different kind of Fun. Any rival groups which used to come to our lanes to break our handi were the prime targets. We used to fill water in baloons and throw it from behind crowds :) on them so as to give them a bad fall.

Yeah...that was rather Naive and Silly me...but it was a source of Fun for boys my age as we were not big enough to climb and the elders just would not let us.
Still it was a nerve wracking experience just observing the Other Teams across the street achieve the Feat.

Itz an experience which can only be experienced by being there.
yet again my heart yearns for the glimpses of Mumbai that built me. I wish I could start over again in the bylanes of Bombay.

Sometimes Time is such a mean thing...u can;t say roll over time.

So much for the Gheun Tak feeling yeah!
Amchi mumbai it remains....Kai sangu the nostalgic moments just get over me....!

Let me get back to my Black Sabbath Crazy Train!
