Wish I had a Camera in my mind

Sometimes on my way back from Office in the company bus I get time to watch things I have never noticed though I might have passed by the street hajaar times. Traffic Jams are the Eye-Openers ;-). You sometimes notice rare things.
Someone or the other keeps honking and you r forced to look around. Its at moments like this you tend to notice things probably your Eye has missed almost 99% of the times.
Jams are like the quintessential recipe for observing life in any city. One can observe people loading their bikes/scooters with 3 people and juggling away into the streets. Funniest part is all wear helmets :D
Traffic jams also help in discussing politiks, Work, Sport. Well I wonder if I am not caught in a Traffic Jam daily I would be missing the Grapevine :-)

Miss u in every Heart Beat....

I have stayed in Germany for six Man Months in the past year. I have actually got some *Germs* into me now!. not a day passes by without me learning a new word in German. I simply get enough of Rosenstolz songs. These dayz I wait to get home and read some german online papers. Sometimes I wonder whats with me, me being in India(Home Sweet Home).

But I feel like I am kind of slave to the Germanic way of life ! :)

Just can;t get enuffff :D

Doc a day keeps High tea away....!

Our Wireless division as part of its employee satisfaction effort had invited upon a noted doctor today to give a small talk on Life/Work/Creativity et al.

The Last time such an event was organised I found it to be a Total letdown!. Some Ad agency director had been invited. He started explaining some things about creativity but it appeared to be His-Side of the story (dumb talk).

He also tried to be funny when he was remotely nowhere near. Then he tried to kind of bring in Religion into Humour and Life. Started singing Christian songs.

Now I am not against any religion but I do hate (or is it despise ? ) ppl who mix this and think its Funny. Believe me half the crowd left the instant he started it. The rest were there just there for the sake of it. A stiff upper lip was maintained as the Guest had to be honoured but it was no good show.

Having learnt from this nasty experience I decided that I will skip this Doctor for toDay.
And as I was sipping my Tea I was wondering as Doc can be more /Humane/ and could have provided some better insight towards Life! I was asking myself did i make a mistake ?

But then the feedback was that this doctor also did cut a sorry figure. Folks did not like it a wee bit. At least I got some time to learn the Najdorf meanwhile ;-)

The Yin and Yang @ work

Sometimes in our daily course of debugging@work we get strange issues. I work for a team which debugs Anamolous Mobile Handset behaviour. Many of the times these are in software and we are able to pin point them accurately to the last instruction which faulted.

Also hardware happens to be the culprit sometimes. But there happen to be some cases which are kind of un-explained in software. Such as a mov instruction leading to software reset.

Normally we hit the Software angle first & considerable hours spent in debugging from a purely software perspective is invested. Then we try to examine the hardware. And if we still draw a blank that is the time we are in a dilemma. Recently i saw one issue where the ARM Processor program counter became zero all of a sudden. How this could happen in the circumstances the handset was executing is still a Mystery. While I was caught in the The Yin and Yang I chanced upon some old bug which was due to bad SDRAM read/writes. Well to detect such faults is a big pain in the neck(believe me).

And to say for certain that the above issue is due to faulty read/write requires an efficient debug mechanism which is rarely present with us. Thus some issues intrigue us no end. However I am still debugging the above said bug. Lets see whether its the Yin or the Yang ;-)

Trip to Paris.

Dear Reader...
Apologies for my blogging absence. I have just returned from a vacation - a really great vacation exploring the City called Paris. THough it happens to be in France, I was wondering whether I had been to Africa or Asia ;-).
Paris is home to all the people from the world and equal representation exists for all. I saw many Srilankans there which made me wonder about their state. Here(france) they are offered all that any French born citizen can lay hands on to. Still they labour to get back their original terriroty in Sri Lanka. Such is the love of Motherland.

gettin back to Paris. The Subways are amazing. The Eiffiel Tower is one Marvel nobody will or shud miss if they happen to tresspass Paris. on my Flight back I managed to spot the Eiffiel Tower from the window and it was a very good experience.

My friends Kiran and Rajendra made my trip @ Paris a memorable one. Without whom i cud have lost Myself in the beautiful streets of Paris. Though Paris is not as clean compared to Frankfurt. The Charisma the city has is what sets it apart from any City i have ever been to.

In fact bangalore resembles Paris in many ways except that tall structures are replaced by IT bldgs in bangalore :)/

Overall.....It was great to be away and take that break and it is great to be back.

Qotm : November

There are 10 types of people in the world:those who understand binary, and
those who don't.
-Anonymouse ;-)

Since I am in the business of post mortem analysis of mobile crashes- this above quote makes it more apt to what we really do @ work...i.e.,make sense out of the gibberish thrown by the device @ us before dying. And we try and explain the same after removing the chaff.
