Politics makes Strange BedFellows.

I was reading TJS George's article in Indian Express. He has outlined how The CULTURE Minister (Gilberto Gill a musician ) of Brazil taught a mighty SuperPower like US what ethics and culture is in conducting Business. US Drug Companies were forced to reduce prices for their AIDS vaccine when he challenged them.

He ditched M$ Windows for Linux which is FREE. THis way he has cut through the normal line of thinking of a minister. I hope such musicians and rational people assume centre stage in India. Sadly in India there is no Qualification for a Politician apart from being from a Politicians family or Lienage.

The Coalition politics in India is making Spaghetti Success of what can be a Continous and Improving India.

Its High time There was some Qualifying Exam for candidates Contesting Elections in India.

Re-Discovery Channel

I was on a small sabbatical this week and watched some cool episodes of Discovery Channel. As I am in the profession of Debugging Software Faults some programmes I feel are meant for people like me who do Post-Mortem analysis(after the event occurs).

Of Particular interest are the Airplane Crashes. Some crashes have software glitches coupled with Human Error as the cause. And some have Human Errors resulting in Software Glitches due to wrong decision making as the actual cause.

Well I now realise that the Pilot and the air traffic controller;s job is a thankless job and one which requires a lot of concentration and precision.

@No point can they rest and risk hundreds of lives (both on board and on land). These episodes make me realise the complexities of software and the Horrors of the same leading to disasters if not handled properly.

Developing Software assumes a new dimension after one watches the Software Glitches brought out by Discovery Channel and national Geographic.
I would recommend these videos to a person who has just started out programming Embedded Devices as he needs to realise the Orthogonal impact and bearing of faulty software.

Kudos to the Channels , that way we can hope to learn fom others mistakes and weed out the *Bugs* in the Softwares, which can possibly save many lives.

Mittal (Man of Steel)

Lakshmi Mittal has dared what only few could imagine. Hats off to him.
Arcelor appears to have been taken by total surprise!

This Smacks of Typical European Complacency @ Its best.
Arcelor management must have been shocked.
Europe I feel is slowing waking up to the Global Standards of Working.
If they ( Europeans ) have to survive in this world of man eat man world they sure must buckle up their socks and get a grip.

The Shrewd Indian mind that Mittal has made him see an opportunity to create a Global Steel Conglomerate which only few could even think of.

The French are shocked and found napping. they want to Stop the Acquisition. They are making a mockery of Globalisation.

All the Best Mr. Mittal and Hats off to your Business Acumen.
