Reorganizations and Round abouts and everything in between

I am currently working for an organisation which is in the middle of a reorg.

Its hard for me to not notice the parallels with traffic circles or roundabouts.

To solve a gridlock, a re-org is conceived.
However just like round abouts are a lesson in group co-operation.
If the organisation originally did not have group co-operation then chances are getting into the re-org ends up like a roundabout where people don't clearly know when to yield and when to get off and the gridlock ends up being a quagmire where people get stuck badly...

How to design a Organizational Roundabout?

Some traits
1. Control entry and exit
2. Decide/Design the right of way
3. Who is allowed inside the roundabout
4. Make an underground walkway for people who have no inclination to get into the roundabout. Basically people who have no wish to play politiks. This is usually the tech savvy people.

Cloud computing & MH370

The MH370 Flight mystery has been one of the most intriguing mysteries of Aircraft crashes.

I wonder why the Cockpit Voice recorders are actually located in the rear and not duplicated in the wing as well.

MH370 is a perfect example which highlights the need to make redundant systems of recording failure or point until failure.
Of course the idea is to make Aviation safer with each Tragic incident and take the lessons from the same.

How hard is to make a Flight voice recorder redundant system which can be sending data to 3 different systems.
The Design complexity of a wing might increase but in Oceans as deep as the Atlantic & Pacific where vasts spans are not well covered.

the Wing might be surviving the deep lounge and might be locatable faster and easier as it may have a tendency to float in waters.

Also since we do have Satellites tracking data. We could even send the Cockpit voice via the satellites into a Cloud based solution up until the snapping of the devices.

Aviation system though has come leaps and bounds but still leaves much to be desired in terms of an answer to the victims & relatives of the MH370 disaster.

The Time Travellers Wife

The current logjam in the Indian Parliament appears so very bad.

but if you do look back a few years the same locks in Parliament functioning was seen albeit with a difference that the coalition parties used it as a whim to bend the Majority parties clout.

Thus the wipe out of the monsoon session this time is one sense good that it does not lead to any blackmailing by the coalition parties.

The Parlimentarians themselves dont seem to mind the delays as they get to do nothing and the Parliament itself today is reduced to the parking lot for Elderlies who wish to binge on the Tax Payers money.

its like the Time travellers wife who eternally benefits by visits by her husband from their early life.
Here the politicians make the (Rules and criticize them at a convenient time later). (The land acquisition bill & the Gandhi families resistance to its own creation)

It is a unique Time Machine where time stands still when the Parliamentarians across the spectrum of political parties enjoy the loot.

When the 'Wheels of time' stood still

my Uncle expired today and it was a very different emotion experienced today.

it was as if the wheels of time stood still for some moments...

the whiff of memories whizzed past me....

reminds me that Life is short and we need to live it to the fullest.

oh blimey ...I sound a tad philosophical/biblical/religious...(forgive me...its just me)

Uttarakhand disaster : himalayan blunder

the Uttarakhand disaster is the worst of its kind disaster in recent years.
Whether its man made or government made...I think the latter is true.

Successive governments  have ignored ecological concerns and the result is land slides and flooding in the Himalayan regions causing the worst catastrophe in recent years.

Even the Rescue personnel lost their lives in the brutal weather.

RIP my fellow country men. Pity ... Not much an average indian can do for you except pray.

Corruption manifests corruption in Indian Cricket

Sreesanth & 2 other cricketers have been arrested by Delhi police after possibly months of scrutiny of their affairs. Delhi police care less about what happens on the streets of Delhi where women are molested, raped & then brutally assaulted or murdered.

To me it appears that IPL owners are throwing away parties and flowing money into this not for nothing in return.

The Return on Investment is quite much and that is the promising aspect for them.
How do you for instance justify :
1. Vijay mallya's attendance when he is supposedly "bankrupt" and owes many banks crores of rupees.
2. FEMA violations of the IPL Franchisee owners are swept under the carpet.
3. BCCI not taking a stand on controlling the menace. BCCI says it could happen to any game...how lame duck an argument.
4. Investment in IPL teams done by companies situated in tax heavens abroad.

The BCCI has become a well oiled money laundering racket with all political parties and business men running the show & sharing the proceeds. Not surprising that the biggest cash cow the IPL has been shielded and systematically cut away from investigative agencies glare.

On a day when the Coal blocks allocation & railway board scams were pushed under the carpet.
Sreesanth became the sacrificial lamb....throw in a "D" word and you have the perfect recipe for clearing public memory of huge scams and government demeanors at the highest order & levels.
one wonders if "Dawood " is called upon by the congress party to solve their issues.

Sreesanth is not guilty at all when compared to the Business men who run the BCCI & IPL.
compared to BCCI looting Sreesanth  is just a man who wanted to make a quick buck just the timing was wrong.
its a case of slight corruption of a already corrupt money making venture.
Lalit modi's tirade against Sreesanth just adds to the irony of it all..

its like a parody of the movie "a few good men" instead here we have a "few bad men" among criminals.

Sonia & Rahul can heave a sigh of relief along with manmohan singh. They must thank their stars & Lalit modi for inventing IPL and keeping the average indians glare on to the cricketfield rather than functioning of the government Machinery.
